my project is titled “Smart City Waste Management Working Model.”
The main aim of this project is to demonstrate how a city can manage waste properly and maintain a clean, green and healthy environment.
Our model is made using cardboard, coloured paper, miniature buildings, plants, roads and other reusable craft materials.
The eco-friendly homes represent houses designed to reduce pollution and save natural resources.
The solar-powered homes demonstrate how sunlight can be converted into electricity using solar panels.
The waste segregation centre represents the place where collected waste is separated into different categories.
Waste should be divided into biodegradable waste, recyclable waste and non-recyclable waste.
Biodegradable waste, such as vegetable peels and leftover food, can be converted into compost or biogas.
Our biogas plant demonstrates how organic waste can be used to produce gas that may serve as a fuel.
The recycling factory represents the process of converting materials such as paper, plastic, glass and metal into reusable products.
The different coloured dustbins show the importance of collecting and separating waste correctly.
The garbage collection vehicle represents the transportation of waste from homes to appropriate processing facilities.
The home garden demonstrates how compost made from organic waste can help plants grow and improve soil quality.
Roads, trees, green spaces and clean surroundings represent a well-planned city that reduces pollution and uses resources efficiently.
Through this model, I want to convey that waste is not always useless; with proper segregation, recycling, composting and renewable energy, we can build a cleaner and more sustainable smart city. Thank you.
5 viva questions and answers
Q1. What is the main objective of your project?
Answer: The main objective is to demonstrate how proper waste segregation, recycling, composting and renewable energy can help keep a city clean and environmentally friendly.
Q2. What is waste segregation?
Answer: Waste segregation is the process of separating waste into different categories, such as wet waste, dry recyclable waste and hazardous waste, so that each type can be handled safely.
Q3. What is the purpose of the biogas plant?
Answer: A biogas plant uses microorganisms to break down organic waste in the absence of oxygen, producing biogas that can be used as fuel.
Q4. How do solar panels help a smart city?
Answer: Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, reducing dependence on conventional energy sources and helping lower greenhouse gas emissions.
Q5. How can students help make a city cleaner?
Answer: Students can separate waste at home and school, avoid single-use plastics, reuse materials, recycle properly, compost organic waste and encourage others to keep their surroundings clean.
