In June 1994, 13-year-old Nicholas Barclay called home from a pay phone in San Antonio, Texas, and asked for a ride. He never made it back. Three years later, a young man in a Spanish children's shelter claimed to be him, and the family flew him home. He was Frédéric Bourdin, a 23-year-old French serial impostor with brown eyes and an accent. For almost five months, he lived as their missing son. Most people know this story from the documentary The Imposter. But when the con man was caught, the case was only half solved. The boy whose identity he stole has never been found.
