The ENTIRE History of England in 18 Minutes

A rainy island that kept getting invaded ended up ruling a quarter of the planet. How? This is the entire history of England, from the Romans who built the first roads to the Angles and Saxons who gave the country its name, the Vikings who nearly took it, and the Normans who conquered it for good in 1066. From Magna Carta and the Black Death to the Tudors, the Armada, Trafalgar, the Battle of Britain, the British Empire at its height, and the Brexit vote of 2016, this is the story of 2,000 years of invasion, survival and reinvention on 21 miles of water. We trace the Angevins, the Wars of the Roses, the Industrial Revolution, the abolition of the slave trade, two World Wars, the end of empire, and the Channel crossings making headlines right now. Estimates are marked as estimates. Illustrations are artistic reconstructions, not portraits. Music: YouTube Audio Library. Which invader do you think shaped England the most? Tell us in the comments.
