Description
In this video, I test the GUIDE MobIR 3.0 ES2+ thermal camera in real electronics and electrical inspection scenarios.
Brand: GUIDE
Official Product Website – ES2+:

Online Store – ES2+:

Instead of doing a traditional unboxing, I use the GUIDE MobIR 3.0 ES2+ in practical tests to inspect circuit boards, detect abnormal hot components, monitor cables and connectors under load, and check the thermal behavior of a Mini PC.
One of the most important parts of thermal imaging is setting the correct emissivity before taking accurate temperature measurements. Different materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, plastic, skin, and other surfaces can require different emissivity values, so I also demonstrate how to adjust this setting inside the FocusIR app.
The MobIR 3.0 Dual-Vision version combines thermal imaging with visible-light imaging, making it easier to identify exactly which electronic component is generating heat. It supports IR, MIF, PIP, and VL viewing modes, allowing you to compare or combine thermal and visible images during inspection.
The thermal sensor has a native resolution of 256×192, with Super Resolution up to 512×384. The Dual-Vision version also includes an 800×600 visible-light camera.
In this video, I test:
- PCB thermal inspection
- Hot component detection
- Electronics troubleshooting
- Emissivity settings
- IR / MIF / PIP / VL imaging modes
- Battery and cable thermal testing
- Connector temperature inspection
- Mini PC thermal testing under CPU load
- FocusIR temperature analysis tools
- Point, line, and area temperature measurements
- Thermal color palettes
- Real-time temperature monitoring
The FocusIR app includes several temperature analysis tools that make it easier to inspect different parts of a thermal image and compare temperatures across components and areas.
According to GUIDE, the MobIR 3.0 supports a temperature measurement range from -20°C to 550°C, with an accuracy of ±2°C or ±2%, whichever is greater.
For electronics repair, thermal imaging can be extremely useful because abnormal heat can help identify areas that require further testing. A thermal camera does not replace a multimeter or oscilloscope, but it provides a different type of information by showing how heat is distributed across a circuit board, cable, connector, battery system, or computer.
The GUIDE MobIR 3.0 can also be useful for electrical fault detection, PCBA inspection, batteries, power electronics, vehicle diagnostics, HVAC inspection, and other thermal inspection applications.
If you work with electronics repair, batteries, BMS systems, inverters, power electronics, Mini PCs, Raspberry Pi, electrical troubleshooting, or DIY electronics, a compact thermal camera like this can be a useful diagnostic tool.
Let me know in the comments what device or circuit you would like me to test next with the thermal camera.
