Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has questioned the recent action against Rohingyas in Jammu and Kashmir, saying the move is not under the control of the J&K government. Omar Abdullah said that Rohingyas had been given space to stay in J&K after being displaced from their country, and questioned the sudden action against them. At the same time, he said that people who entered India from Bangladesh without permission could not stay in the country illegally. Reports say around 500 people were detained during a survey to identify illegal immigrants, while 150 alleged Bangladeshi nationals were subsequently airlifted to West Bengal for deportation.
