Inside the Jenkins Family Murder: Mason’s Confession, The Wills, and a .22 Rifle

An 18-year-old’s murder, a son’s shifting story, and parents who still visit. This intimate true crime portrait returns to Chatham on the night Jennifer Jenkins was shot and the decade of fallout that followed. From the blood trail to the basement and the chair where Jennifer fell, to a single-shot .22 that had to be reloaded, the details refuse to align with any simple story. Hear how Mason fled on horseback, spun a tale of a white van, then revealed “accident” and, later, something much darker. Why were two handwritten wills on the dining table? Why did private family visits come with knife worries and headcount calls? And how do parents reconcile love for a living son with the loss of a daughter they found at home? With raw conversations, parole-board scrutiny, and a confession that keeps changing, this film asks what truth looks like when a family won’t break. Watch to the end for the moments that challenge every assumption you bring to this case. #MasonJenkins #TrueCrime #Documentary #JenniferJenkins #Chatham #Confession #Parole
