Description

April 27, 2011, 4:43 PM — the Tuscaloosa tornado touches the ground and holds Alabama for the next 91 minutes. A mile and a half wide. Winds of 190 mph. An 80-mile scar carved through the hearts of Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. Entire neighborhoods — Rosedale, Alberta City, Holt — gone in seconds. 64 people never came home. More than 1,500 were injured. That day it became the costliest tornado in American history — a title it held for exactly one month, until Joplin took it. This is the story of those 91 minutes. Watch to the end. And please — always take a warning seriously. Being ready saves lives❤️
