Description

What Stops North America’s Predators From Hunting Us? The Champawat tigress was credited with killing 436 people across Nepal and northern India. Her attacks continued for years. Historical accounts describe armed men eventually driving her out of Nepal. She crossed into India and continued hunting people until a hunter killed her in 1907. In Kenya, the Tsavo lions dragged railway workers from their sleeping quarters. Two male lions repeatedly entered the camps in 1898, returning despite attempts to stop them. Analysis of their remains later suggested they had consumed around 35 people between them. The exact number they killed remains uncertain. France had the Beast of Gévaudan. Between 1764 and 1767, roughly a hundred people died in attacks attributed to it. Women and children guarding livestock were frequent victims. Reports spread across Europe, and hunters were sent to kill the animal. Historians continue to debate its identity, with one or several wolves among the leading explanations. Why did North America never have a man-eater on this scale? ➽Consider subscribing: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI5RX1o0cE5SKwHWRj_GVqA?sub_confirmation=1 ➽Narrated By: Christian Neale ➽Audio: YouTube Audio Library ➽Contact: [email protected] Copyright Disclaimer under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976: Allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
