Description
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, has revealed a remarkable behind-the-scenes peace effort involving Qatar and Pakistan, saying Qatar’s Prime Minister and Field Marshal Asim Munir worked for more than 16 hours without a break to keep negotiations alive.
Speaking at the Global Security Forum 2026 in Doha, Naqvi said the effort was carried out without cameras or announcements, with the sole objective of preventing further conflict and saving innocent lives. He stressed that neither country was seeking political credit, but instead wanted to keep the door to dialogue open.
Naqvi highlighted three lessons from Pakistan’s recent peace efforts: never close the doors to dialogue, build trust, and recognize that lasting peace requires sincere efforts from all sides. He also called terrorism a common enemy and urged stronger international cooperation, intelligence sharing and joint action.
Concluding with a powerful message, Naqvi said Pakistan does not want credit for stopping wars — it wants a future where wars do not start. He emphasized that winning peace is far more important than winning a war.
