When Cora met Jose in China, she never imagined she'd end up living in a school bus. Seven years later, they're still on the road, and they've gotten very comfortable with their new lifestyle and slow pace.
What began as a simple art project (and a desire to travel from Alaska to Argentina) has become an entire way of life. In this full tour, Cora and Jose walk us through the bus they built, from the hand-painted mural celebrating the landscapes of the Americas, to the compact kitchen designed for real cooking, to the "loo with a view," and the crown jewel: a fully soundproofed recording studio where Jose and Cora have tracked entire albums, with 11 instruments in a space they call three-dimensional Tetris. By the way it's their bedroom too! Listen to my favorite song of Cora's here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJhx5JqKOG4&list=RDfJhx5JqKOG4&start_radio=1)
Along the way they open up about the parts you don't usually see: the year-long build with no guide and no blueprint, a pandemic that stalled their journey, the two years in Alaska they never planned on, and the honest realities of sharing a tiny home on wheels. They also break down the real numbers, including the roughly $29K it took to go from empty school bus to full-time home.
Whether you're dreaming of your own Skoolie build or just love a good story from the road, come step inside and see why this "one-year trip" is now going on year seven, with no finish line in sight.
Follow their journey all the way to Argentina on their channel, @ArtWeThereYet
