Description

There was no shortage of big, baller luxury SUVs on the market, but then Rolls-Royce rolled in and dropped an SUV bigger and baller-er than them all: the Cullinan. Introduced for model year 2019, the Cullinan’s form factor represents a break in Rolls-Royce tradition but a continuation of the British automaker’s inimitable approach to design and luxury. What’s New Rolls-Royce doesn’t really do model year updates like mainstream automakers do, instead making changes periodically or according to a client’s individual wishes. However, in 2025 the Cullinan Series II was revealed, which brought changes including: Revised headlights, air vents, and an illuminated grille Larger exhaust outlets in rear fascia Available wheels as large as 23 inches Revised dashboard with modernized infotainment system and new clock Additional paint, trim, and upholstery choices This page will be updated with more insights and photos as information becomes available. What We Think There are a lot of luxury SUVs, but there’s only one Rolls-Royce Cullinan. This is a Rolls-Royce in the truest sense, providing sublime comfort amidst impeccable finishings in a spacious, whisper-quiet cabin. Every surface and touchpoint inside the Cullinan feels worthy of its astonishing price. Although it’s incredibly nice to drive, the Cullinan isn’t very fun. Rather than engage, the Cullinan seeks to disconnect its occupants from any sensation that might disturb them from absolute relaxation. Even so, there’s an assured, confident demeanor in its road manners, and with height-adjustable air suspension and standard AWD, the Cullinan is able to get off the beaten path. Even if other luxury SUVs provide a great experience for a much lower price, none compare to the Cullinan. This might be Rolls-Royce's first SUV, but it’s just as special as any of the automaker’s cars that came before. Top-Ranked Competitors: Bentley Bentayga Land Rover Range Rover Mercedes-Maybach EQS-Class SUV Ferrari Purosangue MotorTrend Tested Like a proper Rolls-Royce, the Cullinan is powered by a V-12 engine. Here, it’s twin-turbocharged and has 6.75 liters of displacement. It’s backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD. As standard, the Cullinan’s V-12 produces 563 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. However, in Black Badge specification, the engine is upgraded to make 600 hp and 664 lb-ft, which enables a 0–60-mph time of 4.7 seconds according to MotorTrend testing. MPGs No one who can afford a Cullinan will be put off by its terrible fuel economy of approximately 12/19 mpg city/highway.
