Royal Navy Sailor School sets sail aboard HMS Raleigh, one of the oldest institutions at the heart of navy training. This emotional yet heart-warming documentary series features a group of young recruits as they are put through an intense 10-week training course. This diverse group of young men and women, with their sights set on a navy career, are pushed to the limit as they attempt to join this top establishment. Through a combination of fixed rig cameras and crews, the series captures their experiences and the gruelling process they endure to in order to survive and pass as fully qualified ship mates. In the first episode, a fresh intake arrives at HMS Raleigh to begin 10 weeks of training, the first two of which can make or break their career. Exhaustion and homesickness leave teenager Harland questioning if this life is really for him, while the eldest member Craig (32) sees this as his last chance to make something of himself and his instructors think he might be leadership material.
