#leetrevino #golflegend #pgatou What Happened to Lee Trevino at 86 – Try Not to CRY When You See This Lee Trevino survived something most golfers never imagine facing on a course: in 1975, he was struck by lightning during the Western Open, an incident that worsened back problems and threatened the career of one of golf’s greatest shot-makers. Yet “The Merry Mex” returned, won again, and at 44 captured the 1984 PGA Championship for the sixth major title of his career. Across the PGA TOUR, Lee Trevino collected 29 victories and built a reputation for fearless ball-striking, relentless humor, and an ability to challenge Jack Nicklaus at his peak. More than five decades after his greatest seasons, the connection to golf has not disappeared. In 2026, at 86, he said he still “eats, sleeps, walks and talks” the game—and would gladly live on a driving range. What Happened to Lee Trevino is remarkable because lightning, injuries, age, and retirement changed his body and his career, but never seemed to weaken the hold golf had on him. #leetrevino #golflegend #pgatour #golfhistory #celebritystories ⚠️ DISCLAIMER: This video is created for entertainment, educational, and storytelling purposes.
