Why Did China Rotate This 36,000-Ton Bridge? | China’s Insane Bridge-Turning Technology Explained!
---
Have you ever wondered how engineers can build a massive bridge without completely shutting down the highway or railway running underneath it? 😱🌉
In some challenging construction projects, engineers use a fascinating technique called bridge rotation or bridge-turning technology. Instead of constructing the bridge directly over an active route, the main structure can be assembled beside it. ⚙️🏗️
Once the bridge is completed, a specially designed rotating system is used to slowly turn the massive structure toward its final position. The bridge is then aligned precisely with its supporting piers before being secured in place. 🤯
One such Chinese bridge project involved a structure weighing more than 36,000 tonnes. Moving something this massive requires incredible engineering, precise calculations and carefully controlled machinery. 🇨🇳🌉
The amazing part is that the bridge itself is moved into position instead of forcing traffic to stop for a long construction period!
Follow for more amazing engineering, mega projects, giant structures and incredible technology facts! 🌍🔥
