Description

From a single rock in the sea to an entire continent — this is Oceania, at real scale. 24 countries and territories, lined up from the smallest to the largest, from Nauru (21 km²) to Australia (7,692,024 km²). Every map is scaled by land area, so you can see exactly how much bigger each one is than the last. Total land in this video: 8,515,154 km². Australia alone is 90% of it — larger than the other 23 combined, nine times over. 00:00 Nauru, Tuvalu, Norfolk, Pitcairn 00:28 Wallis and Futuna to Niue 00:56 Palau, Marianas, Guam, Micronesia 01:16 Tonga, Kiribati, Samoa 01:34 French Polynesia, Vanuatu, Fiji 01:50 New Caledonia, Solomon Islands 02:05 New Zealand, Papua New Guinea 02:18 Australia A few notes, because Oceania is not a normal continent: • Territories are included (Guam, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Norfolk, Niue, Cook Islands, Wallis and Futuna, American Samoa, Northern Marianas, Pitcairn). They are not sovereign states, but leaving them out would erase most of the Pacific. • Hawaii and Easter Island are not here — they belong to the United States and to Chile. • For scattered archipelagos, the islands were brought closer together so a country can fit in one shot. Every island keeps its exact size — only the distance between them was reduced. More size comparisons: North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa are on the channel. #sizecomparison #oceania #3d #geography #australia
