Description

(Sources below) I was surprised how far these chakram could be thrown and how powerfully they cut – to see them in actin, I highly recommend Tod’s Workshop & Archaic arms vid called “Chakram: Don’t throw this frisbee at friends” (which is where I got the idea from) – fun watch. Source: “Duarte Barbosa” And they carry seven or eight of these each, put on the left arm; and they take one and put it on the finger of the right hand, and make it spin round many times, and so they hurl it at their enemies, and if they hit anyone on the arm or leg or neck, it cuts through all. And with these they carry on much fighting, and are very dexterous with them.” --------------- Source: “Aruna Panday” “that is thrown toward the enemy by rotating it on one's upright index finger to distances of up to 100 metres (110 yards) with great speed!” --------------- Source: Wallace collection: “The disc’s outer edges are razor sharp, whereas its inner ring is blunt. This enabled Sikh warriors to spin the weapon on their index finger, gaining momentum, before hurling it at their opponents with maximum speed. Accounts reported a flight range of 30 to 50 yards, which resulted in deep gashes and severed limbs. The weapon could also be thrown underhand or used in hand-to-hand combat.”
