Students గొంతు పట్టుకున్న Police 😡| Telangana Polytechnic Students Protest on GO 97 | Revanth Reddy Telangana Polytechnic students are protesting against GO No. 97 and the proposed integration of polytechnic education with the Young India Skills University (YISU) under the SHAKTI (Skill, Human Capital and Knowledge Training Initiatives) framework. Students and staff have raised concerns about the future of ECET, B.Tech lateral-entry opportunities, SBTET autonomy, diploma education and employment prospects. The protests have intensified across Telangana, including Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Mahabubabad, Nalgonda and other locations. One of the most controversial incidents happened in Mahabubabad, where visuals showed CI Raghupathi Reddy allegedly grabbing protesting students by the throat. Following the controversy, Mahabubabad SP Dr. P. Shabarish relieved Raghupathi Reddy from active duty pending a DSP-level inquiry. The political debate has also intensified. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Congress government are facing criticism from opposition leaders and student organisations over GO 97. KT Rama Rao (KTR), R.S. Praveen Kumar, Chirumalla Rakesh Kumar, and Gellu Srinivas Yadav have publicly extended support to the students and demanded action or withdrawal of GO 97. Meanwhile, Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy, Minister for SHAKTI, met protesting students at Government Polytechnic Masab Tank and assured them that ECET would be conducted for polytechnic students. However, TP-JAC has continued to demand written assurances and either withdrawal of GO 97 or removal of the clause integrating polytechnics with YISU.
