Description

All planets in the Solar system have moons, except Mercury and Venus. Ever wondered why? Why does the planet Mercury have no moon? The enigmatic Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. Its proximity to the Sun means that the gravitational pull from the Sun is very strong compared to the relatively weak gravitational forces that Mercury itself can exert. As a result, any natural satellites that may have formed around Mercury would likely have been captured by the Sun's gravity and pulled away from the planet.
