Description
I won’t buy a single thing this fall — and my cozy German habits & slow living traditions will make this little "seasonal no-buy" much easier.
In this video, I’m sharing how I am creating a peaceful, intentional No-Buy Fall without buying into fall hauls, seasonal decor, a new autumn wardrobe, or every Pumpkin Spice trend. These simple German fall traditions help me enjoy the season through slow living, underconsumption, minimalism, and everyday homesteading-inspired rituals instead.
This is not an anti-shopping video. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a candle, a seasonal coffee, or a beautiful thing you truly love. But I want to remember that cozy is not something we need to buy every year.
Cozy is not a product category. It is a feeling we create.
Growing up in Germany, autumn was never mainly about shopping. It was about apples from the garden, German apple cake in the oven, warm soups, rainy walks, falling leaves, repairing what we own, and making our home feel good with simple things already around us.
In this video:
• Baking a simple German apple cake with cinnamon and seasonal apples
• Making comforting lentil soup for a slow autumn evening
• Creating a cozy home with things we already own instead of buying new fall decor
• Collecting and pressing autumn leaves as seasonal memories
• Using edible autumn decor: apples, pumpkins, pears, nuts, and seasonal vegetables
• Doing a cozy mending night and caring for an existing fall wardrobe
• Practicing minimalism and underconsumption during the most consumer-driven season of the year
• Reconnecting with autumn as a rhythm of nature — not a shopping occasion
For me, this is what simple living looks like: fewer seasonal purchases, less clutter, more gratitude, more time outdoors, and small rituals that make ordinary days feel special. It is the German way of cozy: practical, peaceful, frugal, and deeply connected to nature.
Whether you are trying a no-buy challenge, building a slower life, decluttering your
