Singing Won't Feed You, Papa Said. He Was Wrong | Nigerian Movie 2026

Singing won't feed you, Papa said. He broke her guitar and drove her and her mother out. Then the world heard her voice. Asa is a gifted young singer from a poor Nigerian family. Her strict father wants only books, so she posts her songs online as the "Unknown Voice" and hides her face. When a New York artist invites her to record, her mother secretly sells her gold to fund the trip. From a tiny rented room to the bright lights of New York and a stunning live finale, this emotional Nollywood movie shows what happens when a gift is hidden, and when it is finally heard. A powerful story for every parent who silences a child's dream, and every dreamer who feels too poor to be heard.
