My day began with a quiet escape to nature to breathe and clear my mind, followed by a cozy afternoon at home baking a delicious, **homemade pumpkin cake**. I made a hot cup of tea to enjoy on the balcony, and finally took the time to repot my very last plant of the season – even though it felt a bit late, it felt so good to get it done! While waiting for the pumpkin to boil for my cake, I poured a beautiful new rose-shaped candle into an old glass jar to bring more light into these longer evenings. Later, while the kitchen was filling with the sweet scent of baking, I prepared my mom's traditional recipe for crispy fish in a vinegar marinade.
