Celebrity Homes Driving Tour - Lionel Richie, BEVERLY HILLS, Los Angeles CA (4K 60fps)

Take a scenic 4K 60fps celebrity homes driving tour through the hills of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, as we climb Summitridge Drive toward some of the highest and most exclusive residential streets in the city before finishing at Lionel Richie’s longtime Beverly Hills estate overlooking the Los Angeles Country Club. Lionel Richie purchased the property in 1999 from fashion and fragrance mogul Bijan for slightly under $6.5 million. The Italian Renaissance Revival mansion was originally built in 1929 for Carrie Guggenheim by architects Harry Koerner and William J. Gage. When Richie purchased it, the home was reported at roughly 12,600 square feet, but after an extensive multi-year renovation and expansion, Architectural Digest described the estate as approximately 17,000 square feet with 28 rooms. Richie worked with architect Robert Attree and designers Peter Schifando and J. Jonathan Joseph to restore and transform the historic residence. The renovation uncovered original wood floors that had been hidden beneath carpeting and restored limestone walls that had been covered by varnish. Richie drew inspiration from his travels around the world, including European architecture and interiors, giving the home a distinctive international feel rather than the look of a typical modern Beverly Hills mansion. The estate sits on roughly an acre on a knoll overlooking the Los Angeles Country Club and features limestone terraces, a swimming pool, stone poolhouse, landscaped gardens, cypress and magnolia trees, and Iceberg roses. Richie has also incorporated extensive art, music memorabilia, and spaces dedicated to his career throughout the property.
