Why Methodist Reject Calvinism? Predestination vs Free Will Explained

Does God choose who will be saved... or do people genuinely have the freedom to respond to God's grace? Why do Methodist and Calvinists disagree? For over 500 years, this question has divided Christians and shaped some of the biggest theological debates in church history. John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, rejected Calvinism's famous TULIP and argued that Christ died for everyone, God's grace can be resisted, and believers must continue in faith. But why? In this video, we'll examine the five major reasons Methodists reject Calvinism, directly from Scripture and Wesley's own writings. This video is not intended to attack either Methodists or Calvinists. My goal is to explain the Methodist perspective while encouraging everyone to search the Scriptures for themselves like the Bereans in Acts 17. 🙏🏻 In this video you'll learn: 📌 What Calvinism's TULIP actually teaches 📌 Why Methodists reject Unconditional Election 📌 Does John 3:16 really mean everyone? 📌 Did Jesus die only for the elect? 📌 Can God's grace be resisted? 📌 What is Prevenient Grace? 📌 Does Hebrews 6 teach believers can fall away? 📌 Is "Once Saved, Always Saved" biblical? 📌 Why Wesley believed Calvinism weakens evangelism 📌 The differences between Calvinism and Arminianism 📌 Why John Wesley and George Whitefield remained friends despite disagreeing Whether you're a Methodist, Calvinist, Baptist, Reformed, Pentecostal, non-denominational Christian, or simply curious about Christian theology, I hope this video helps you better understand one of the most important debates in church history.
