Description

📕 Get a beautiful perennial garden with less watering, fewer costly mistake from Henry’s Garden Blueprint: https://henrysgardensecrets.com/ Most people spend October putting the garden to bed, and next May they'll pay thirty dollars a pot to wake it back up. Meanwhile, the seed is falling in every ditch and field in the country, on purpose. A lot of perennials can't grow until they've spent a winter frozen in the ground. It's a lock, and only cold opens it. Here are eleven perennials to sow this fall, a few dollars a packet each, and let winter do the work. 🌱 IN THIS VIDEO Three easy starters for a first try · when to sow (hint: not until the soil turns cold) · the plants spring sowing often fails with · the milk-jug trick for the seed almost everybody gives up on · Henry's three rules for every fall-sown seed · the refrigerator version for the South (zone 8+) · two milkweeds for monarchs, one for wet ground and one for dry · and the plant that costs thirty or forty dollars in a pot and about four from seed. 🥛 THE MILK-JUG METHOD A clear gallon jug, cut around the middle with a hinge left by the handle · drainage holes in the bottom · 3-4 inches of damp potting mix · seed on the surface, pressed down · taped shut, cap off · outside in sun and rain, not under the eave. On warm spring days, open the lid. By May you've got seedlings. 🌡️ WHEN TO SOW When the soil stays cold, under about 40°F. Roughly: zones 3-5, late October into November · zones 6-7, November into early December · zone 8+, the refrigerator version (4-8 weeks in damp sand, sow in late winter). 💬 COMMENT: Which zone are you sowing in, and which three are you trying first? And what's the most you've ever paid for one perennial in a pot? 🔔 SUBSCRIBE - a new one every couple of days. 👍 LIKE if a packet of seed has ever done better for you than the plant in the pot. 📚 SOURCES - Prairie Moon Nursery germination codes, Clemson HGIC, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, The Old Farmer's Almanac, Un
