History’s Worst Disaster: The Untold Story of the 1975 Banqiao Dam & 1931 China Floods

Water gives life, but when its power becomes uncontrollable, it can turn into a force more destructive than any bomb. In this documentary, we explore the devastating reality of recent flash floods in Nepal and look back at the most catastrophic water disasters recorded in human history. From the 30-to-40-foot walls of mud that swept through Himalayan valleys to the tragic dam collapses and mega-floods in China—including the 1931 floods that affected over 50 million people and the sudden collapse of the Banqiao Dam in 1975—we unpack how these events unfolded and what they teach us about nature's raw power.
