Description

After heavy rainfall destroyed our main thatched house, our family faced a difficult challenge. With our home badly damaged, we had to find a way to repair it before the next rains came. We made the difficult decision to carefully dismantle a neighbouring thatched house that was in better condition so that we could reuse its thatched roofing materials to help restore our main home. What followed was a beautiful display of African village community spirit. Village children came to help, working together as the roof was taken down and the materials were prepared for our repair. Later, our pregnant mother and other family members prepared a huge traditional village lunch of giant ugali, fresh amaranth (terere) greens, and beef for everyone who had worked so hard. From the destruction caused by the rain to the teamwork, traditional cooking, and sharing of food, this video captures a real moment of African rural life, family, resilience, traditional food, and community support. ❤️ If you enjoy authentic African village life, traditional African cooking, rural family stories, farming, rebuilding, and community living, subscribe to our channel and join our journey. 👉 Watch until the end to see how everyone comes together for the meal!
