Description

Athens has no river. So Greece built one — 192 kilometres long, 14 tunnels, 67 kilometres underground, running entirely on gravity with no pump on the main line. To fill it, the village of Kallio was drowned in 1980. In September 2024 the reservoir dropped so far that Kallio reappeared. The fix Athens reached for next was a tunnel the Emperor Hadrian paid for in the year 140. #engineering #documentary #greece #infrastructure #water #megaproject #drought DISCLAIMER ____________________________________ This is not engineering advice.
