Description

West Texas is underwater after being battered by a terrifying wave of extreme weather, including torrential rain, flash floods, and tornadoes! In just a short period, a massive rainfall exceeding 5 inches (over 127 mm) poured down on the region, turning highways and residential areas in Midland and Stanton into raging rivers. "Life-threatening flash flooding" left numerous vehicles submerged, drivers stranded, and many homes completely flooded and isolated. It didn't stop there. A powerful supercell storm system spawned an EF1 tornado that swept through the area near Fort Stockton with wind gusts up to 95 mph (152 km/h). The tornado ripped apart metal structures, sent debris flying, and uprooted trees along its path. Despite massive damage to property, infrastructure, and transportation, local officials confirmed the good news that no injuries or fatalities have been reported. Cleanup and rescue efforts are currently underway.
