Description

I built a secret stone shelter into a mountain slope — hidden, solid, and set up for real survival with a stove and a place to sleep. I chose the slope deliberately — the mountain does half the insulation work before a single stone is laid. I packed the walls in dry-laid fieldstone directly into the hillside, tight enough to block wind and hold heat once the fire is going. Inside I built a primitive stone stove for cooking and warmth, and a basic sleeping platform to get off the cold ground. From the outside the shelter disappears into the rock and slope around it — which is exactly the point. Cold mountain, hidden entrance, fire inside. Everything a survival shelter needs to be.
