Description
I retired at 54 thinking I had all the time in the world.
But the more I thought about it, the more I realized something important: not all retirement years are equal.
In this video, I talk about the idea of the Go-Go Years, Slow-Go Years, and No-Go Years — and why the most active years of retirement may be shorter than many of us think. For my own retirement planning, I’ve been thinking about it this way:
Go-Go Years: now to age 70
Slow-Go Years: age 70 to 80
No-Go Years: age 80+
That realization has changed how I think about time, travel, health, money, and what I want to prioritize in early retirement.
Because retirement planning isn’t just about having enough money. It’s also about using the years when you still have the health, energy, and mobility to actually enjoy the life you worked so hard to build.
In this video, I share why I’m trying not to delay joy, why travel and health are moving higher on my priority list, and why I believe the early years of retirement deserve a different kind of planning.
