He’s not annoyed by his regular office job, well, he *IS* annoyed, but at least it’s better than being on the verge of death. It’s been 6 months since he drank that wish ticket, something that he dreamed about everyday while he was in *that* universe. But somewhere along the line, his gratitude for finally being home faded away, as he settled back down in his boring 9-to-5 office job. ‘Being home is nice, but I’m still trapped …’ He had spent the past 6 months getting promotion after promotion in the real world, as if it was nothing. He finally upgraded from those claustrophobic office cubicles that junior analysts work in, to a spacious private office suitable for an MD like himself. ‘It even has a window!’ Kim Soleum could see the kids running around outside with their stupid pokemon instead of going to school like he did. ‘These days kids all become pokemon trainers the moment they turn 10. Back in my days, getting a *real* degree had more respect.’ But deep down he knew he was lying to himself. Oh how he wished to live such a carefree life! Ever since being maulled by a Rattata, an *itty-bitty* Rattata, when he was a kid, he’s been terrified of the creatures. But something about going through all those darknesses and witnessing monsters that shouldn’t even be imaginable, made him think that, hey, pokemon are kinda cute~ That’s it! He could quit his job and become a pokemon trainer! Who cares if he’s 21 years too late. It’s not like the 10 year olds will judge him… right??? After getting off work today, he sprints to the nearest pokemon lab, as if he was in his early 20s again!!! He had to stop after 2 minutes and 30 seconds because his back started cramping… After barely reaching the door, he didn’t have enough strength to push it open. Breathing heavily, with sweat dripping off his face and hands collapsing on his knees, he had to press the automatic-door-opening-button. As the door unceramoniously opened at the pace of a Feebas trying to fly, Proffessor Kukui was standing right there with his briefcase, ready to go back home after a long day at work. “Hey man, did we hire a new accountant? Haha, guess they didn’t tell you we close at 8 PM sharp!” the proffessor chuckled and patted Soleum on the back as if they were old friends. “….(inhale)… I’m here… (exhale)…. for my starter pokemon..!” Soleum exclamed while trying to catch his breath from all that running. “Oh…? O…K…? Well then, I have my wife and kids to get back to, so you can have this…rather peculiar… pokemon that has been left over from today’s batch” Proffessor Kukui said as he reached into his briefcase and quickly pulled out a pokeball. Just an ordinary pokeball. “Anyways, I’m just gonna close the lab for tonight, so good luck man!” And just like that, Soleum was left all alone, under the night sky, in his sweaty blazer and a mystery pokeball. Welp, might as well see what pokemon it is… He releases the pokemon with the flick of his wrist. Maybe it will be a Rowlet, he prefers that one out of the 3 starters. But as soon as he saw a flash of pink, he started to question things. None of the usual starters are pink… Could it be a Jigglypuff? No, it’s ears are much longer…so a Wigglytuff? “Friend!” “…” “…?” “…” “I’ve been waiting patiently for you to visit the pokemon lab, don’t you know how long that crass proffesor has kept me in a containment tube?” “What are you doing here Braun?” “…Is that the first thing you say to you’re good friend whom you just reunited with?” A/N: if you've read this, pls let me know what you think XD.
