Van Camping on Top of The Mountain - Hays North Carolina

We took our 2WD van up one of the roughest mountain roads we’ve attempted so far. It was about a mile and a half, but honestly, it felt like a lot longer. There were huge rocks, steep sections, and barely any room to turn around, so there were definitely a few moments where we weren’t sure if the van was actually going to make it. But somehow, we made it to the mountain top. And then we saw the view. I mean… look at this. It almost doesn’t look real. It looks like a painting, or even a blue-screen background. Just completely surreal. We found a spot right along the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, set up camp, cooked some dinner, and just enjoyed the view. As the sun started going down, we lit a fire and sat there for a while taking it all in. Honestly, after that drive, this view was so worth it. #mountains #nature #northcarolina #roadtrip #campinglife
