A tragic accident at the Tour de Corse not only took the lives of Henri Toivonen and Sergio Cresto, but turned the future of the sport upside down. Almost immediately, FISA (The sport’s governing body) announced the banning of Group B at the end of the season and critically, the planned Group S follow-up class was also scrapped.
