Description

Get my complete printable home-cleaning guide: https://olditalianway.com/ White glass, mirror-bright chrome, and no grey ring around the tub — this is how Italian households keep a bathroom looking presentable with about a minute a day and twenty-five minutes a month. The secret isn't a miracle product. Italian tap water is extremely hard, so the real enemy is limescale (calcare), and limescale doesn't respond to scrubbing — it responds to a mild acid and a bit of patience. In this video I go through the full method from start to finish: the cheap citric acid spray that does 90% of the work, the bicarbonate paste for the tub ring, the Marseille soap trick for grout, the plastic-bag soak that brings a weak shower head back to life, and the sixty-second drying habit that's doing more than all of it combined. SAFETY AND SURFACE WARNINGS Never mix bleach with vinegar, citric acid or ammonia — it releases chlorine gas. Never use acid on marble, travertine, limestone or any natural stone; it etches permanently. No scouring pads on acrylic tubs or trays. Rinse acid off anodised aluminium and unlacquered brass after a couple of minutes rather than leaving it to sit. Ventilate the room while you work. If you try the sixty-second habit for two weeks, tell me in the comments whether you went back.
