Description

🐾 Want a longer, healthier life for your cat — and to support the channel while you're at it? My complete owner's manual is here: https://stevecooperpets.com/ Kneading, the slow blink, that little meow at the food bowl. A kitten does these things for only one animal, its mother. If your grown cat still does them with you, it has made a decision about who you are. Most kitten behaviors are supposed to fade at around eight weeks, when the milk stops. Many adult cats keep a whole set of them for one person. In this video, Steve Cooper counts down 11 signs your cat sees you as its mother. They start with the meow that adult cats hardly ever use with each other and the tail held straight up like a flagpole. Then come head bunting and scent marking, following you right up to the bathroom door, and the "gifts" left on your rug. You'll also learn why your cat grooms you (allogrooming), how to answer a slow blink and why a cat shows you its belly but hates a belly rub. Steve also explains why your cat sleeps pressed against you even though it's warmer than you, and where purring really begins. Then there's kneading, or making biscuits, and the small detail that shows your cat never stopped being a kitten with you. Along the way, Steve points out the behavior changes that call for a vet visit, not a training fix. These include sudden yowling at night, over-grooming and bald patches, and chewing or swallowing fabric. Subscribe for more cat behavior explained by a lifelong cat owner who has taken in more strays and fosters than he can count. #catbehavior #cats #catlovers
