Description

The feed sack is the biggest cost of keeping hens, and a good share of it never goes inside a bird at all. On my farm above Gudbrandsdalen we learned to feed a flock 50 minutes from the nearest store, and shut on Sundays. In this video, you will find the free trough fix that stops a fifth of your feed hitting the mud, the old potato pot that replaces the cheap half of the ration, and why the breed you keep may be costing you more than the feed does. Tell me in the comments where you keep your hens. Disclaimer: This channel is for general information only. It is not veterinary advice. If a bird is unwell, speak to a vet. #BackyardChickens #ChickenKeeping #Homesteading #ChickenFeed #SelfSufficiency #Smallholding #OldFarmMethods #Poultry
