Description
Most people think decluttering takes a month of weekends. It doesn't. Every home has a handful of spots where clutter collects, and if you know exactly where to look, you can clear the worst of it in one afternoon.
In this video, we walk through your home together, stop by stop, from the front porch to the garage. At every stop, you'll learn exactly what goes first and why: the porch and mailbox, the hall closet, the kitchen junk drawer, the mug and water bottle pile, the paper pile, the guest room, the laundry room, the garage, and finally your car, loaded and ready for the donation center.
You'll also get a simple system for the afternoon (the out bag, the give box, and the Thanksgiving family box), the one-touch rule, and Japanese ideas like kadohaki, the washitsu, sodai gomi, seizen seiri, and the ending note. And the last stop isn't a room at all.
Safety note: never mix cleaning products, take old chemicals to a household hazardous waste drop-off, shred anything with personal information, and ask for help with heavy items.
What's the one thing in your house you know you should let go of, but just can't? Tell me in the comments.
