Description
What did you do yesterday? Practice answering in English with simple past tense, useful everyday phrases, and natural conversations.
Join David and Alice for English listening and speaking practice about the things you did, the things you didn't do, and how you felt. You'll hear examples from home, work, school, and conversations with friends.
In this episode, you'll practice:
• Starting with “Yesterday, I…,” “Last night, I…,” and “Earlier today, I…”
• Using regular and irregular past verbs, including went, ate, saw, bought, and felt.
• Asking questions with “Did you…?” and answering with “I didn't…”
• Describing daily activities and adding feelings to your answers.
• Connecting events with first, then, after that, and finally.
• Understanding 10 bonus phrases, including “Time flew by,” “I was swamped,” and “It was worth it.”
Listen to the model conversations, repeat useful sentences, and pause to answer aloud. Try changing the details so each answer is true for you. This is also a useful review for intermediate learners who want more practice using familiar grammar in conversation.
Your speaking challenge: tell us about yesterday in three sentences. Say what you did, what happened next, and how you felt.
Write your answer in the comments, then read it aloud once more. Subscribe for more everyday English conversations with David and Alice.
