Overnight on 13–14 October, Starlink terminals on the military Starshield package started dropping their connection at speeds above 160 km/h, leaving Ukrainian drones blinded mid-mission. Ukraine says it got no warning, and several combat missions failed. The cap came days after Donald Trump pressured Kyiv to stop hitting Russian oil refineries, announced an "energy ceasefire", and Musk posted that "Zelenskyy has gone too far." Is this US pressure flowing through a private company? And what does it mean for India, where Starlink is still waiting for security clearance? In this video, Kinjal Choudhary covers: 🔹 What SpaceX did: the 160 km/h speed cap on Starshield, Starlink's military tier 🔹 How it hits Ukraine's strike drones, interceptor drones and front-line missions 🔹 Starshield vs Starlink: why only the Pentagon-paid military tier was capped 🔹 Why now: Trump's diesel deal with Putin, the refinery-strike row and the energy ceasefire 🔹 Starlink's track record in Ukraine: Kherson 2022, Crimea, and the 2026 speed caps 🔹 Why India's Starlink launch is delayed, and why security vetting matters 🔹 The Iran, Manipur and Andaman cases: why a foreign-controlled network is a security risk 🔹 India's own answer: Jio's 1,600-satellite LEO constellation The big lesson: whoever owns the satellites holds the switch.
