Why Aren't There Crocodiles In The Amazon?

Why Aren't There Crocodiles In The Amazon? Crocodiles have made themselves at home across much of the tropical world. They thrive in warm rivers, wetlands and coastlines, from the waterways of Africa to the mangroves of northern Australia. Cross the Pacific and you find them in the Americas too, with crocodiles living from southern Florida and Mexico all the way down into South America. Together with alligators, caimans, gharials and their other close relatives, true crocodiles belong to the larger group we call crocodilians. True crocodiles have established themselves elsewhere in South America, with one species living in the neighbouring Orinoco river system.
