Description
I went out to refill the washer fluid in my classic Mini. Then there was some scope creep - I decided to convert it to electric.
This is my 1985 Mini Mayfair, now being converted from petrol to fully electric. It doesn't have a name.
In this first film, I strip out the original engine, and figure out how to install the 72 kW electric motor and reduction gearbox into the mini's tiny engine bay!
The aim is to engineer the conversion to the highest standard I reasonably can, while keeping it fully reversible and preserving as much of the original Mini's character as possible.
