The Brutal Crime That Got Nick Carain Sentenced to Life

When deputies in Murray County, Georgia, answered a frantic 911 call about an unknown person on a porch, they never expected what was waiting inside a cardboard box. Hiding beneath the cardboard was 29-year-old Cassidy Porch—bloodied, barefoot, and terrified that her armed fiancé, Nick Carain, was actively hunting her down. While Carain claimed to officers that Cassidy had simply vanished overnight on her own, a search warrant revealed a brutal reality: bloody drag marks, a tactical axe, weapons, and disturbing evidence scattered through the home. In this 3-minute case breakdown, we cover the 911 dispatch, the dramatic bodycam interception, the forensic discoveries, and the final courtroom verdict that put Nick Carain behind bars for life plus 25 years.
