Mumbai was once at the centre of a powerful and violent underworld, with rival gangs, extortion, shootings and organised crime shaping the city’s crime landscape. In this video, we explore the rise of the Mumbai Mafia and the controversial era of “Encounter Specialists” in the Mumbai Police. We look at how officers such as Vijay Salaskar, Daya Nayak, Pradeep Sharma and others became prominent in the fight against organised crime. But this is not simply a story of heroes versus villains. The era also raised serious questions about fake encounters, police accountability, corruption and the use of force. From the rise of Mumbai’s underworld to the police crackdown that followed, this video explores how one of India’s most notorious crime eras unfolded. ⚠️ This video is intended for historical, educational and documentary purposes. It does not glorify organised crime or violence. 👍 Support the Channel If you enjoyed this video: 👍 Like the video 💬 Comment your thoughts and opinions 📤 Share it with others who may find it interesting 🔔 Subscribe to the channel for more historical, political and documentary content.
