Catholic Priest Answers: Could Jeffrey Dahmer Really Be In Heaven?

In this clip, Alex O'Connor (host of Within Reason, formerly Cosmic Skeptic) challenges Bishop Robert Barron on one of Christianity's most controversial ideas: that genuine repentance — even from someone like Jeffrey Dahmer — can open the door to salvation. Bishop Barron breaks down the true meaning of grace, forgiveness, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, using powerful metaphors about ransom, redemption, and healing that completely reframe how we think about mercy. This isn't your typical religious debate. It's a real, respectful, and intellectually honest conversation about what Christianity actually teaches about sin, grace, and who gets into Heaven — and why that answer might make you rethink everything you assumed about fairness and justice. Watch till the end to hear Bishop Barron's take on the Jeffrey Dahmer case and why he says it's not as simple as "sorry, whoops." Original Full Conversation: This clip is from a longer conversation between Alex O'Connor and Bishop Robert Barron on the "Within Reason" podcast, discussing meaning, purpose, theism, and the Christian worldview.
