Description

Subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FreeStream_Movies?sub_confirmation=1 Two fast-talking salesmen. One run-down hotel. A publicity scheme that works far better than they expected. In Hook, Line and Sinker (1930), comedy duo Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey play Wilbur Boswell and Addington Ganzy, a pair of insurance salesmen who meet Mary Marsh, a young woman who has inherited a struggling hotel. Seeing an opportunity, the two men help transform the neglected property into a resort that supposedly attracts wealthy and fashionable guests. Their clever publicity campaign succeeds—but it also draws the attention of rival gangsters looking to get their hands on the hotel's valuables. As the hotel fills with unexpected visitors, romantic complications, shady characters, and escalating confusion threaten to overwhelm the whole operation. Directed by Edward F. Cline and featuring Dorothy Lee, Jobyna Howland, and Natalie Moorhead, Hook, Line and Sinker is a classic pre-Code comedy from RKO Radio Pictures. Released in 1930, this fast-paced film showcases Wheeler and Woolsey's comic partnership, wordplay, slapstick, and the mischievous humor of early sound-era Hollywood. If you enjoy forgotten Hollywood comedies, vintage slapstick, classic comedy duos, and the wild schemes of old movie characters, this early RKO film is a fun discovery. 👍 Like the video, subscribe for more rare classic movies, and tell us in the comments: would you have trusted these two salesmen to run your hotel? #HookLineAndSinker #ClassicComedy #VintageMovies
