Description

In 1304, the defenders of Stirling Castle offered to surrender to Edward I of England. His engineers were finishing Warwolf, an enormous counterweight trebuchet. But Edward refused to accept the surrender before using his new siege weapon against the castle. The battle was already decided. He wanted a public demonstration of power.
