Winston was a tiny puppy found in Guápiles in very poor condition. Severely underweight and suffering from anemia, he needed urgent veterinary care. After moving to a foster home, Winston slowly began gaining strength. But his recovery became more difficult when he developed a fever and was diagnosed with meningitis. Further testing revealed ehrlichia and anaplasma, which affected his nervous system and made it difficult for him to stand. With veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and plenty of care, Winston gradually improved. His appetite returned, his legs became stronger, and he eventually took his first little steps again.
