"There's a real boy missing." On November 19th, 2020, special forces descend on a home in Russia attempting to break down a barricaded door, believing that inside is a kidnapped 7 year-old-boy. Weeks earlier in Boston, Massachusetts, Agent Greg Squire had been working undercover on the dark web, infiltrating a network of predatory criminals, when one day one of the users made a disturbing claim: he abducted a real child, and he has the photos to prove it. But, tracing a user on the dark web is practically impossible—they could be anywhere in the world. With time running out, it's up to Agent Squire to lead an international manhunt to identify the boy, locate where he's being held, and take down the dark web kidnapper before it's too late. - Director, editor & writer: Justin Chalifoux Researcher: Tiffany Loxton Voiceover: William Akana Producer: Salim Sader Distribution manager: Kat Gardilcic - Sources: Getty Images “The Darkest Web: Inside the internet’s most hidden corners to save kids – BBC World Service Docs” BBC World Service, 2026. “The Returned” (Original Russian title: “Вернувшиеся”): TV-3 Channel, 2020.
