Description
Where do the richest people in Texas actually live? In some cities, it's a famous old-money enclave with a hundred years of history. In others, it's a golf course subdivision most people have never heard of. And in several of the biggest cities in Texas, the richest neighborhood isn't technically part of the city at all.
In this documentary, we go city by city across Texas: Laredo, El Paso, Amarillo, Lubbock, Corpus Christi, Irving, San Antonio, Arlington, Plano, Austin, Fort Worth, Houston and Dallas. For each one we name the richest neighborhood, using home values and household incomes from the U.S. Census, Zillow and local reporting. Along the way we visit Kern Place and the Rim in El Paso, Wolflin in Amarillo, Las Colinas, the Dominion, West Lake Hills, Westover Hills, the Memorial Villages and Highland Park, the most expensive place to live in Texas.
At the end, we reveal the town with the highest household incomes in Texas. It's not the one you'd guess.
Which city do you live in, and do you agree with our pick? Tell us in the comments.
