Description
Okay. Stop.
You just walked into a tiny home where the bedrooms are DOWNSTAIRS — and the kitchen, living room, and bathroom are UPSTAIRS.
Every tiny home ever built follows the same rule: loft bedroom up top, life happening down below. It's so universal that most people don't even question it. This home broke that rule completely.
This is the Onda by Australian builder Removed Tiny Homes — the first of its kind to introduce a true upside-down layout. All three bedrooms sit on the ground floor, while the kitchen, living room, and bathroom occupy the elevated upper level. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, in a tiny home, with the entire floor plan flipped.
In this video, I walk through every inch of it — why they did it, how it actually lives day to day, and the design psychology that makes this layout make more sense than the standard tiny home formula once you actually think it through. And at the end, I'll show you the blind spot in the entire tiny home industry that the Onda exposes.
You'll see:
✅ A full-height hallway connecting three real ground-floor bedrooms
✅ A private master bedroom with an actual door, not a curtain
✅ Why the staircase functions as a psychological threshold in this layout
✅ An elevated kitchen, living room, and deck with real views
✅ Why bedrooms actually want to be low, and living spaces want to be high
✅ Who this layout is really built for — and who the standard loft excludes
